“If you build it, they will come.” This fun family outing requires faith that if you make bird feeders, the birds will come. You can look up easy family-friendly bird feeders online or you can make this simple bird feeder from things you may already have in your house.
Supplies:
- Apple Bird Feeders
- Sliced apple rings
- Peanut butter
- Birdseed
- Twine
- Straw
Slice apples making rings. Using a straw, poke a hole through the center of each apple ring and then feed a piece of twine through the hole and tie it into a knot creating a hanging loop. Pour birdseed onto a plate. Spread peanut butter on one side of your apple slice and then press into birdseed on a plate. Then repeat on the other side of the apple slice, and continue with each apple slice.
Now hang apple slices in a tree, a bush, or hang it out a window—then sit and wait for the birds. It may be hard to wait but remember to have faith, trusting what you can’t see because of what you can see. You can see the birdfeeder and you can have faith that the birds will come. Enjoy watching the birds love your bird feeders.
