YOUR CUE
- Prepare for chaos. In life, chaos will always come in one way or another. Prepare for life’s chaotic moments now before they happen. Sure, you can’t prepare for absolutely every aspect of it, but you can have a plan in place for when it strikes.
- Give yourself a timeout. Sometimes you just need a moment to yourself. Take some time to step away from a tense situation to remind yourself of who you are.
- Let something go. Everything doesn’t deserve your energy. Choose one thing to let go and replace it with something that will bring you peace.
EPISODE RECAP
In today’s society, there seems to be an overall lack of peace. Whether it’s the shift from school year to summer break and all the scheduling that includes or a more serious change in our family and personal life, we could all use a bit more calm.
And while we know peace is an important piece to our mental and emotional stability, many of us hardly ever take the time to get it. Finding peace likely feels like one more thing you have to check off your to-do list, right?
So what does peace look like when you’re waist high in soccer practices and swim meets or when your family has just entered into a financial crisis?
“Peace is the ability to continue forward confidently in what you know is true — about yourself, your family, your God —in the middle of chaos,” Brooklyn Lindsey says.
In today’s episode of the Parent Cue Live podcast, Brooklyn shares her personal story of when she needed peace the most and how she got to where she is today, what just 10 minutes a day can do for you in terms of self-care, and how to regain connection with yourself and God in life’s toughest moments.
