Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Garden Bin Preschool Craft

Sometimes it’s the simplest things that make for the best memories. Parents, remember the joy and fun you had as a kid creating paper snowflakes? Or do you live in a part of the country that doesn’t get snow? This month as a family, spend an afternoon or evening cutting and creating unique paper snowflakes to decorate a part of your home, creating a “Winter Wonderland” in your house! Pick an area you wish to decorate, a hallway works best. Next, get a stack of white paper and scissors for each family member. The goal is to create enough snowflakes to hang and cover the walls and ceiling of your chosen area. This will make a mess, however, it is easy to clean up afterward.

Once you’ve created dozens of snowflakes, hang them from the ceiling with fishing string or yarn, and taping several to the walls as well. After hanging the ones you’ve made, you may decide you need more. Continue to have fun making snowflakes together! This is also a great activity to do while watching a movie. You can even make it a game to see how many snowflakes each person can make, before the end of the movie. No matter how you do it, you will get to enjoy the rest of the month walking in a winter wonderland!
